Kazimierz Duda C.K.M. Band of Brothers CHRONICLES DOCUMENTS

Changes of personnel and promotions.

As always in wartime, there are frequent changes in personnel. Many people leave, others arrive. Others are promoted and receive awards. They are happy about this until the moment of return to combat.
On 7 October we were told that officers had been promoted.
In the C.K.M. squadron: Lieutenant Duda was officially promoted to the rank of captain1 and Second Lieutenant Handelsman was promoted to the rank of lieutenant. The list of non-commissioned officers is quite long and I will not list them all.
The squadron leader, Sergeant Raganowicz, is promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant. The midshipmen: Wiśniewski, Rago, Raczkowski, Łodziński, Czerniawski are promoted to second lieutenants. Lieutenant Wiśniewski took over Lieutenant Błajda's position; second lieutenant Rago went to the Podhale battalion, second lieutenants Łodziński and Raczkowski moved to the 9th battalion. Both were wounded. Second Lieutenant Czerniawski was hospitalised in England.
Many of our wounded, and almost all the seriously wounded, were taken to England. In a large hospital in Antwerp, if you look at the lists of patients, every second name is Polish.
