Kazimierz Duda C.K.M. Band of Brothers CHRONICLES DOCUMENTS

Despite this isolation, the Commanders of the individual platoons were up to the task. Often under very difficult conditions, not knowing the whole of the operations in their battalion's sector - they carried out their tasks with obstinacy and determination to the end. There were cases of chaotic withdrawals of the Battalion. The soldiers of the C.K.M. platoon - stubbornly holding their positions - forced the companies to stop and hold the area.
The squadron, in these several days of battles, gained the reputation of a first class troop - fighting and disciplined. Platoons are respected and admired by the battalions. A resistance point is formed around such a platoon. The use of CKM platoon itself is not very logical. The division into squads or individual fighters is in contradiction with the logic of a tactical use of C.K.M.
With the heavy mortars it was even worse.
Commanded by the platoon leader with objectives imposed by the squadron leader, with targets imposed by the Squadron Leader who knew the situation in the section, they could render a great service. It is a truly paradoxical situation.
