Kazimierz Duda C.K.M. Band of Brothers CHRONICLES DOCUMENTS

Often, however, food had to be brought to the front line, as a platoon could not always send its own vehicle to collect supplies. Despite these difficulties, the platoons were able to be supplied and there was no obvious shortfall. This was due to the good training of our soldiers and the competent personnel occupying the supply positions.
Communications.
During the first period of the fighting, the squadron leader tried to maintain communications with the different sections on the squadron's network. The radio stations were switched on at the agreed time and reported on the situation or needs. In principle the radio stations worked on the network with the Battalion Commander to which the platoon was assigned.
This practice of keeping communication 'platoon to squadron' did not work and, as a result, radio communications were interrupted. The platoon commander reported (not every day) and gave casualties and requirements by motorbike messenger or by wagon that arrived for supplies. However, this was not a system, but a 'band-aid' for an unfortunate situation!
