Kazimierz Duda C.K.M. Band of Brothers CHRONICLES DOCUMENTS

The forcing of the Mark Canal and the retreat was done at point 898421 on the maps used by the troops. Our command abandoned the crossing and moved the whole operation further north.
Podhale Battalion was ordered to cross the ford at point 973425, 1st C.K.M. Platoon followed.
The 9th Battalion was to cross the ford at point 998425, accompanied by the 3rd C.K.M. Platoon.
On 4 November both battalions crossed the canal, the 9th Battalion at Wagenberg and the Podhale Battalion at Ondekerk. The defence this time was insignificant. It turns out that the Germans resisted as much as they could. They finally gave up their positions by moving north to Moerdijk.
To underline the importance of the operations on the Mark Canal, the specificity of the terrain must be mentioned in a few sentences.
