Kazimierz Duda C.K.M. Band of Brothers CHRONICLES DOCUMENTS

7th September 19441, we march on through Belgium, welcomed everywhere by ovations. They cover us with flowers, giving us fruit, beer and vodka.
8th September, we capture the town of Roulers after bloody one-day battles. Lieutenant Walicki was wounded in Tielt. The platoon is now commanded by Officer Cadet Jarmulski. Platoons at battalions. We stop for a rest at Wyngleve.
The 9th Battalion remains in the rear guard, the 8th Battalion attacks the town of Tielt on 9 September - the town is conquered. The enemy's losses are very heavy.
The Typhoons and tanks of the armoured brigade caused many losses to the enemy by breaking the enemy columns in Ruiselede. The road is littered with tanks, dead horses and soldiers. We took many prisoners. Germans are running away in panic. The Belgian partisans, acting very efficiently, cooperate with the Polish troops.
11 September we arrive in Ghent (Gent) and relieve the English divisions that have captured most of the city.
