Kazimierz Duda C.K.M. Band of Brothers CHRONICLES DOCUMENTS

New phase of fighting.

After a rest in Grandmesnil. On 30 August we move eastwards. In the afternoon of that day we stop at La Haye Malherbe 5 km south of Elbeuf-sur-Seine.
On 31 August we cross the Seine near Elbeuf on a bridge built by Polish sappers.
The platoons are assigned to the battalions. The squad command moves with the brigade command.
Our objective: Abbeville on the Somme. We encounter no resistance on the way. It's a real chase. Everywhere we meet broken down German wagons and lots of equipment.
The job is set aside by our aviation and especially by the "Typhoons1".
The objective of our pursuit is Abbeville on the Somme, where it is supposed the Germans will try to hold, having the Somme as a natural obstacle before them.
