Kazimierz Duda C.K.M. Band of Brothers CHRONICLES DOCUMENTS

German units withdrew to the east and southeast.
The 18th of August was a day of pursuit.
The division advanced very fast and even went too far. It occupies Barou. 8th Battalion and 2nd C.K.M. Platoon under Lieutenant Walicki and the 2nd Armoured Regiment occupied Les Champeaux.
Our left wing holds on and is continuously harassed. The Germans fled in panic from the pocket formed by the Canadian Corps (which includes the Polish Division) and on the left flank by the Americans. The smaller pocket is a sector between the 4th Canadian armoured division, operating on the Falaise-Trun road, and our division.
We took a large number of prisoners of war who were not sure what to do with them as it was tedious to send them back.
The infantry brigade and the C.K.M. platoons are very weakened. Food supply impossible due to high and dangerous wedge. Far to the rear it still comes to fighting with troops left behind and passed out.
