Kazimierz Duda C.K.M. Band of Brothers CHRONICLES DOCUMENTS

On 9 August, the battle of Bourguebus. Particularly harsh are the mortars coupled with the bombings, which kill and wound our men in numbers. On this day Private Jan Sobieski was killed, Corporal Gryzań and Private Miedzinski1 were wounded and Private Słowik2, very slightly wounded.
On 10 August the entire C.K.M. squadron entered the action. Attack on the right flank of St. Sylvain. On that day Corporal Rozkosz was killed, Midshipman Czerniawski was wounded. Germans use flame throwers. Our tanks are in constant battle with the enemy's Panzers and Tigers. The losses on our side are very high. Many prisoners have been taken in this area.
The cruelty of the Germans is incredible. They stabbed our tankers in the neck as they came out of the burning tanks and left their bodies on the ground next to the destroyed tanks.
On 11 August, we are in action.
This time it was the first platoon that was badly beaten.
It was with the 9th Battalion on the left wing of the division.
