Kazimierz Duda C.K.M. Band of Brothers CHRONICLES DOCUMENTS

The attitude of the French population towards the Allied Forces.

From conversations with the civilian population, it can be deduced that the attitude of the civilians is not favourable. They hate the British, they are indifferent to the Poles.
The civilians state that the Germans treated the peaceful population gently.
What is more, the Germans supplied the people and their relations were even friendly.
Repressive measures were undertaken only against individuals suspected of working for British agents. The attitude is better towards Canadians.
We don't know what the situation is like in the American sector as we are not in contact with these troops.
The most interesting thing is that the Germans married French women in large numbers, and each marriage received considerable help from the German authorities. The wife of a German was given everything she needed to live.
