Kazimierz Duda C.K.M. Band of Brothers CHRONICLES DOCUMENTS

The initial composition of the squadron was not a success, as it was Major Szajowski who was appointed as the squadron commander.
During the reorganisation he made many mistakes in the organisation, selecting the wrong people for various positions, under the suggestion of senior officers who did not particularly care about our detachment. In addition, people like Cavalry Captain Lesser wanted to take advantage of this for the organisation of their units. Major Szajowski did not command the squadron for long, just a few days. He left compromised in front of the officers.
As this incident is quite characteristic, it is worth briefly describing it. On 9 April, Major Szajowski had been drinking heavily and was in the company of some of the officers of the battalion, which was still full at that time. There was a discussion about assignments. Several officers were unhappy about being assigned to different units and they all expressed regret about this.
