Kazimierz Duda C.K.M. Band of Brothers CHRONICLES DOCUMENTS

As far as the composition of the men of the C.K.M. Squadron is concerned, it is safe to say that in terms of the selection of men, their training and their skills, it is the best unit in the Division. Everybody knows and speaks about it. It would have been difficult to imagine this detachment in any other way, especially after the reorganisation of the 1st Reconnaissance Regiment and the creation of the Support Weapon Battalion. From 900 people only 400 remained and after its reorganisation into a squadron, it only had 212 soldiers who were the best and healthiest.
There were temptations, and there still are, to take personnel away from our unit: They always say: 'You have enough drivers, everyone drives all the vehicles, you have too many mechanics, too many radio operators, you have to send us some'. There were many arguments about this. Today there are no more temptations to pull people out, which we are very happy about.
