Kazimierz Duda C.K.M. Band of Brothers CHRONICLES DOCUMENTS

Description of the detachment and its value.

The CKM squadron went to war with full strength, equipment and armament.
It had a reserve complement: a total of 2 officers + 21 privates. This complement was on the continent immediately behind the division. After heavy losses in killed and wounded, the strength was exhausted and a shortage of men was already felt in Belgium.
Teams are reduced only to the extent necessary. The veterans are used for the most important functions, as drivers or gunners. In the secondary functions, there is no one. Slowly and systematically, the "A" and "B" groups were removed, and the number of people was reduced to a minimum.
In spite of these reorganisations, it was impossible in the long run to manage the unit and ensure its survival. All the 'veterans', i.e. all those who had gone to war, had been soldiers with noble ideas, well trained, with a great sense of duty, close to their colleagues and their commanders.
