Kazimierz Duda C.K.M. Band of Brothers CHRONICLES DOCUMENTS

The Dutch women immediately appreciated their liberators.
And because our boys have a good heart and everyone brings something home1 , the relations with the population are very good. It is worth mentioning that Breda is a very beautiful and old town, with a nice population, but very poor and hungry. The Germans, when they were stationed there, looted and carried off everything they could.
Hunger prevailed in almost every house. The situation changed when the Poles arrived. The soldier's rations are so copious that no one can eat all that is left. We share with the inhabitants. We feed the children especially.
The inhabitants of this town are very grateful to the Poles not only for having liberated this town almost without destruction, but also for having fed it in the hardest moments and for having shared everything with the civilians.
On 21 December, the 3rd Rifle Brigade was moved from Breda to the north-east to Capelle to further clear the area of Germans and drive them away across the Meuse.
