Often they assumed tasks that were not their responsibility.
On 8 November, the entire squadron was assembled to stop in Breda. It was assembled on the market square, near the city's slaughterhouse. Our soldiers are accommodated in private houses. The squadron presented itself rather poorly, dishevelled, with incomplete equipment, all its members were tired. Our unit is exhausted. The state of the equipment is overrated. For the supervision of the troops, this was not the time. Part of the division was provided by the 8th Battalion + 2nd Armoured Regiment.
The soldiers of the squadron were surprised that the squadron was left alone and that the platoons were not ordered to join their sections in the battalion.
