On 4 October we occupy the village of Baarle-Nassau, located in the Netherlands.
We face a battalion of Dutch SS soldiers. They fight well. The 3rd company of the 8th battalion took a hell of a beating. The 2nd C.KM. platoon has been withdrawn from the battle area due to heavy losses. The platoon commander, Corporal Jarmulski, suffered a nervous shock and was taken to hospital. Lieutenant Brajda took over the command.
The platoons were reduced to six carriers. We lack qualified personnel, especially drivers.
