It is certain that the population is hostile to the Allies.
The English, for their part, treat the French haughtily and ruthlessly at the same time. Restrictions have been imposed on civilian life. Nothing is allowed to be bought from the civilian population, nor is any food given from the authorities. The population is embittered and feels sorry for the Germans. There are also some Frenchmen who are unreservedly hostile to the Germans and supporters of the Allies, but this is less heard of.
