Gathering district.

On 26 June 1944 the first contingents left for the new area, but were recalled from the road by the English Command. Then on 11 July the same soldiers left for Aldershot¹ to prepare quarters for the Division. From 15 July the movement of the Division to the camp at Aldershot began. The entire Division was in the new camp on 20 July. The Polish divisions were divided into railway rows - heavy tracked equipment and crews and wheeled rows; all cars and manning.
The camp we are now in contained all the troops that went out to invade France. It is a massive camp capable of holding tens of thousands of men and equipment. The camp is arranged on a grand scale at great expense of money and material.
Next to the barracks is a nice and tidy town. People feel good here.
The weather is pleasant - there are no exercises, although the Brigade has a project to organise exercises for the Battalions.
